Sveciuose pas Kvebekus / Life in Quebec

Kvebekas, praejusiais metais uzputes keturis simtus zvakuciu, seniausias miestas Siaures Amerikoje. Senamiestis primena Europa, t.y. jautiesi kaip Europoj. Siauros gatveles, pasene pastatai, murines baznycios.

Kalbama vien prancuziskai, zmones kartais atsigrezdavo, kai mes snekedavomes anlgiskai (Fx prisipazino paskutini karta ne prancuziskai snekejes pries du metus).

Quebec at the age of 400 years is the oldest city in North America. The old town is like any old town in Europe and americans come here to feel the vibe instead of buying expensive tickets to old world.

I came to visit guys I used to work with at the infamous vaults restaurant in Dublin. Gabrielle is studying medicine and in two years time will start working as emergency doctor, Francois is policeman of Quebec city. I stayed in their apartment in Levis, cozy little town opposite side of the river from Quebec. Taking it easy time - good food (like french they are really serious about it), tasty beer (similar to the one you can get in Belgium), crazy Gab's friends. Went to Quebec old town for half of a day and most of the time stayed in Levis.

Pataikiau i sestadienine talka - Gab krisktatevis, nusipirkes nama salia, su gimines atstovais denge nauja stoga.

As, isaukletas jaunuolis, pasisiuliau padeti.

The weekend was spent in country house in the tiny village St. Alexis 500 kilometres away from Levis. Gab's godfather bought other house next to country home and the family members for two days helped to change the roof. I being a polite guy offered my help. Nice big dinner afterwards, something like in Lithuania but french language and no vodka on menu:). It rains a lot in Quebec but Sunday morning found a sun in the bed and it didn't hide during the kayaking trip.

Before I did kayaking only on the lake but the river was calm and I came back in one piece. The river is full of salmon and famous fisherman as Clinton and bush came here (Obama has to save the world first).

Next day we came back to Levis, I caught a bus to Montreal, found a hostel near bus station (it's more like a hotel actually) close to the park with serious guys - junkies, gangsters, punks. I like it:)
Grizus i Levis, sokau i autobusa, Montrealyje susiradau hosteli prie autobusu stoties. Vieta - labai tvarkinga ir patogi, labiau panasu i viesbuti, bet salia esantis parkas vilioja linksmus veikejus - narkomanus, pankus, benamius, nusmuktkelnius gangsterius, gera vieta:)
